not only new life, but also changing a Couple's status to a

came handy, and believe me, it was well spent, but the true
meaning of what a wonderful deed I have done came years

to be a donor ? |
Following the completion of the initial fertility screening and sexually transmitted
disease testing, (consisting of a single blood drawing and a culture which is
similar to a pap smear), you will start a medicine session.
First phase - You will be taking Lupron or birth control pills
to regulate your cycle.
Second phase - You begin to take injectable FSH, a natural hormone
which augments your ovarian response. This is done through a tiny injection,
similar to insulin which is universally self administered. The second phase takes
up to 10 days. During this phase three to four times you will visit the most
convenient office location for a blood test and an ultrasound exam.
Third phase - Under sedation, the mature eggs in your ovary will be aspirated
by a slender, ultrasoniclly guided needle. Subsequent to the procedure you will
be given your compensation and need somebody to drive you home. One week after
the egg retrieval you will have a final visit to assure your well being. Potential
risks and complications will be discussed in detail during your screening session. |
